Archaeologist, 280x170cm, 2004
"Archaeologist" (2004) was shot inside a 3 meter and 8 meter pit like cave where 30 nude models were covered with mud. In the photo work, they look like corpses, human remains from a long time ago. I pose as the archaeologist conducting research on human remains, in order to express my on-going reflections on what is real and what is false in present-day times. For my personal perspective, I sometimes think present-day human beings are deadened in mind and soul, and their remains need to be reexamined in order to understand the reasons for their early demise, as a means of better understanding how we arrived at this moment of desire-obsessed contemporary society.
